Border Bash on State Street May 21, 2010 thru September 3, 2010 from 6pm til 9pm Boarder Bash is an after hours meet and greet event held May through September 3, Border Bash is on State Street from 6pm til 9pm. The Bash consists of live music, food, beverages and fun for all ages. Border Bash is a free to the public event.

| Fas Mart Street Fights at Bristol Dragway June 26, 2010 thru September 16, 2010 Fas Mart Street Fights brings a lot more than just head-to-head street legal racing to the table most Thursdays beginning at 5pm and Saturdays beginning at 1pm. Yes, you can race your buddy, or try to top your last run down Thunder Valley's quarter-mile, but there's much more. Each event night serves up fun and exciting promotions. Come out and join the fun! | State Street Farmers Market July 1, 2010 Saturday mornings Until October State Street Farmers Market in the Downtown Center on State Street is open. The Farmers Market is open from May till October on Saturdays from 7am till 11:00am. This is the 11th year that the market has been in operation. Come enjoy fresh produce, local farmers selling locally grown fruits and vegetables.
| Winged Deer Lakeside Concert Series July 15, 2010 thru September 23, 2010 The 2010 Winged Deer Lakeside Concert Series is getting geared up again for another year of great music and lots of fun. Come out and join us for a memorable musical experience featuring a dynamic mixture of the areas top talent. This years line up is: July 15th 6pm-9pm Spirit of Soul Dance Band; July 22nd 6pm-9pm Tennessee Green; July 29th 6pm-9pm Trey Hensley; August 5th 6pm-9pm Jazz The Ripper; August 12th 6pm-9pm Spoonful of Blues; September 12th 6pm-8pm Johnson City Symphony and September 23rd 7pm-9pm Drum Line Bands.
| Virginia Highlands Festival July 24, 2010 thru August 8, 2010 Multi-faceted activities and performances await you at the Virginia Highlands Festival held in Historic Abingdon and the surrounding area. A Photograghy competition called 'Intake' is set for Saturday, July 10th from 10am-3pm at the Abingdon Va Senior Center, open to all photographers. The cost is $5 for adults and $3 for youth. Reception for the competition is July 22nd at 7pm at The William King Museum. Also, the festival offers fine art and crafts, antiques, performing and literary arts, local history, the great outdoors, home and garden events, and fun for kids of all ages!
| Festival Luncheon at St. Thomas Episcopal Church July 28, 2010 and August 4, 2010 St. Thomas Episcopal Church Women are hosting a "Festival Luncheon" on (2) Wednesdays during the Virginia Highlands Festival. Proceeds benefit local community programs and ministries. The Luncheons will be on July 29th and August 5th from 11:00am till 1:00pm. The church is located at 124 East Main St. Abingdon, VA., 2 blocks east of the Martha Washington Inn. Adult meals are $7 and you can choose from quiche or 2 ham rolls, salad, dessert and a drink. Childrens meals are $5 and include a peanut butter sandwich, salad, dessert and a drink.
| Framing Hanley at Capone's July 30, 2010 9:00am Framing Hanley with Transmit Now and Star City Meltdown are coming to Capone's located at 227 East Main Street in Johnson City on Friday, July 30th at 9:00pm. The tickets for the show are $10 in advance or $12 at the door. Must be 18 years or older to enter.
| Sullivan East Patriot Regiment Car Show July 31, 2010 5pm - 8pm The Sullivan East Band Boosters is hostng the Sullivan East Patriot Regiment Car Show at the school located at 4180 Weaver Pike Bluff City from 5pm till 8pm on Saturday, July 31st. Bring any car of any make or model and join the fun. $20 per car that enters the show.

| Miracle Treat Day August 5, 2010 All Day Participating Dairy Queen locations on Thursday, August 5th for Miracle Treat Day to benefit Children's Miracle Network, a non-profit organization dedicated to saving and improving the lives of children by raising funds for 170 children's hospitals. | 1st Annual Bristol Virginia Relay for Life August 14, 2010 9am till 9pm The 1st Annual Relay for Life of Bristol, Virginia is set to take place at the Bristol Mall on Saturday, August 14th from 9am till 9pm. This event will be all day, so bring the family and come to the Bristol Mall and help support and participate in this wonderful event. All proceeds go the Realy for Life.
| 2010 Baby to Family EXPO August 14, 2010 10am till 2pm The YWCA and La Leche League of Bristol are joining together to present the 2010 Baby to Family EXPO; Healthy Beginnings, in conjunction with World Breastfeeding Week. We invite you to exhibit your services and products on August 14, from 10 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. at the YWCA. This is a great opportunity to share businesses and services that meet the needs of babies, young children, and families of the Tri-Cities and Southwest Virginia. | United Way Regional Campaign kickoff featuring The Blind Side August 20, 2010 1pm The United Way is hosting a campaign kickoff featuring The Blind Side and Leigh Anne and Sean Tuohy. This event is scheduled for Friday, August 20th at 1pm at Viking Hall. See the movie and hear two of the top motivational speakers in the country, the inspiring couple portrayed in The Blind Side. | Soggy Bottom Bike Rally August 27, 2010 thru August 29, 2010 The guys at Soggy Bottom Bike Rally in Englewood , TN. are at it again, they are having a benefit bike rally for Ms. Jody Shadden, a 24 yr old woman who was recently shot and is now quadriplegic with no insurance. The entrance fee is $30 per person and you MUST be 21 or older to enter. There is advanced tickets for $20 per person on the website, and they are offering $15 one-day passes. There will be free camping, free hot showers, free parking and no support vehicle fee. | Washington County Fair - Abingdon September 13, 2010 thru September 18, 2010 The annual Washington County Fair and Burley Festival in Abingdon, Virginia, will run September 13th through 18th. Activities include educational exhibits, concerts, talent shows, beauty pageants, and a parade. Daily exhibits will include farm equipment, crops, tobacco, livestock, foods, and flowers. There will be nightly concerts at 8:00 pm on the entertainment stage. Performers will include Monday night;Mystery Guest Tuesday night, Jamey Johnson, Wednesday night, Chris Young, Thursday night, Hotel California-The Original Tribute to the Eagles, Friday night,1964-The Tribute, The #1 Beatle Tribute Band and Saturday night,Luke Bryan. | Rhythm & Roots Reunion - Downtown Bristol September 17, 2010 thru September 19, 2010 The annual Rhythm & Roots Reunion music festival will be held on the weekend of September 17th-19th on State Street in Downtown Bristol. There will be three major outdoor stages, eight indoor venues, and five acoustic tents all on State Street in Downtown Bristol. | The Diary of Anne Frank at the Barter Theatre October 3, 2010 2:30pm The Barter Theatre will be bringing the dramatic story of Anne Frank's incredible life in 'The Diary of Anne Frank'. Caught in a world of hate she couldn't comprehend, this young Jewish girl has become an icon of light for all who dare to dream. This presentation will be on October 3rd at 2:30pm.
| Sharky 500 October 16, 2010 On October 16th Speedway Children's Charities & Bristol Motor Speedway will drop thousands of rubber sharks into Beaver Creek racing 500 yards to see which one takes the checkered flag in the Sharky 500. The winning shark will earn its owner the BMS pace car, valued at more than $32,000. The first several across the finish line scoring some amazing prizes, including a second-place prize of $5,000 in merchandise from Grand Home Furnishings. The sharks are $10.00 and all proceeds go to the Bristol chapter of Speedway Children's Charities.
