Homemade Candy Contest
March 12, 2010  11am
The Bristol Public Library announces their 4th Annual Homemade Candy Contest on Friday, March 12th, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. in the J. Henry Kegley Meeting Room. This event is free and open to the public. Entry forms will be available at the library and should be returned on or before 10:30 a.m. the day of the event. Each contestant should submit approximately 30 pieces to be split between 4 judges and distributed for other contestants to enjoy.

10th Annual Heroes Ball at Viking Hall
March 12, 2010  7:30pm
The annual basketball game played each year for charity with teams from Bristol Virginia and Tennessee's Fire and Police Departments is scheduled for Friday, March 12th at 7:30pm at Viking Hall. Everyone is welcomed to attend and there is a $3 donation suggested at the door. All proceeds from this years event will benefit the Haven of Rest in Bristol, Tennessee.

TobyMac and Skillet at Viking Hall
March 13, 2010  6:00pm
The Awake Tonight Tour featuring TobyMac and Skillet is coming to Viking Hall on Saturday, March 13th. The show starts at 6pm but the doors will open at 5pm. Tickets for the show are $43, $28, $18 and can be purchased at the Viking Hall Box Office. For more information call 423-764-0188.

Food City Family Race Night at Bristol Motor Speedway
March 19, 2010  4:00pm - 9:00pm
NASCAR fans are invited to Food City Family Race Night at the Bristol Motor Speedway on Friday, March 19th from 4pm to 9pm. There will be drivers, showcars, simulators, commercial characters, and more. Since admission to this event is free you can bring the whole family for a night of fun and activities.

Race Weekend at Bristol Motor Speedway
March 19, 2010  thru March 21, 2010
Race Weekend at Bristol Motor Speedway will kick off on Friday, March 19th when the gates open for Fan Friday where practice and qualifying will take place all day, then Saturday, March 20th the green flag for the Scotts Turf Builder 300 Nationwide Series will fall. On Sunday, March 21st get geared up for the Food City 500. An entire weekend of racing at the World Fastest Half-mile.

Skate Party at Legion Recreation Center
March 20, 2010  7pm till 9pm
Legion Recreation Center, located at 111 Legion Street in Johnson City will host a skating party to benefit the March of Dimes on Saturday, March 20th from 7-9pm. Admission is $3, door prizes will be awarded throughout the evening and concessions will be available. The March of Dimes will dedicate proceeds from the skating party to a variety of uses, including research and education programs. ETSU Special Education Spring Fling
March 20, 2010  4pm till 6pm
The ETSU Special Education class is organizing a Spring Fling for adults with special needs. The event will take place on Saturday, March 20th from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at Boones Creek Christian Church located at 305 Christian Church Road just off exit 17, the Boones Creek/Jonesborough exit in Gray, TN. There is no charge to attend this event and there will be lots of games and food.

Chevelle at Chrome in Johnson City
March 24, 2010  Doors open at 7pm
Chevelle is set to perform at Chrome Nightclub in Johnson City on Wednesday, March 24th. You must be 18 years or older to get in. Doors will open at 7pm. Chrome is located at 820 W. Walnut Street in Johnson City. Tickets for the show are $28 in advance and $33 night of the show.

Saving Abel at Chrome in Johnson City
March 31, 2010  Doors open at 7pm
Saving Abel is coming to Chrome Nightclub in Johnson City on Wednesday, March 31st. You must be 18 years or older to get in. Tickets for this show are $18 in advance and $23 night of the show. Chrome is located at 820 W. Walnut Street in Johnson City.

George Strait in Knoxville - Re-Scheduled Date
April 2, 2010  7:00pm
The Thompson-Boling Arena in Knoxville welcomes back George Strait, Reba McEntire, and special guest Lee Ann Womack on Friday, April 2, 2010. Tickets go on sale to the public Saturday, December 5th at 10:00 am at the Arena Box Office, all Tickets Unlimited Outlets. Ticket prices for this show are $89.50 and $79.50. The concert was originally scheduled for January 29th, but due to possible bad weather it has been re-scheduled for April 2, 2010.

Bristol Easter Egg Hunt
April 3, 2010  9:30am
The annual city-wide Easter Egg Hunt is slated for Saturday, April 3rd at Cumberland Square Park starting at 9:30 am. The Easter Bunny invites all children ages 2-9 to bring a basket and come out in search for eggs and valuable prizes hidden within the park. There will be other festive Easter activities including mascots & games ongoing prior to the hunt. For more information call 276-645-7275

Easter Egg Hunt at the Coomes Center
April 3, 2010  10:00am
A colorful day filled with candy and prizes for kids ages 12 and under. This fun-filled Easter Egg Hunt is scheduled for Saturday, April 3, 2010 at the Coomes Recreation Center in Abingdon, Virginia. Age groups will be seperated and will begin with 2-3 years old at 10:00am, 4-5 years old at 10:30am and 6-8 years old will begin at 11:00am. Prizes and refreshments will be available upon completion of each age group. This event is Free. Bring the kids and have a wonderful day.

Train in Concert at Tennessee Theatre
April 3, 2010  8:00 p.m.
Grammy-Award-winning Train will be performing at the Historic Tennessee Theatre in Knoxville on Saturday, April 3rd. Tickets on sale now at All Tickets Unlimited Locations and The Tennessee Theatre Box Office. The concert starts at 8:00 p.m. Doors open at 7:00 p.m. Over the course of 15 years, Train has made its mark with their chart smashing songs Drops of Jupiter, Meet Virginia and Calling All Angels.

The Bob and Tom Comedy All-Stars Show
April 9, 2010  7:30pm
The Canadian Mist Bob & Tom Comedy All Stars Show is set for Friday, April 9th at 7:30pm at the Paramount Center for the Arts on State Street in Bristol, Tennessee. Starring: Bob Zany, Greg Warren, Greg Hahn, and Donnie Baker, Emcee: Chick McGee of The Bob & Tom Show. Many of the best comedians in North America appear daily on The Bob & Tom Radio Show. A number of these comedians are headliners and often have TV credentials ranging from Comedy Central to Late Night with David Letterman. Tickets are $31.50 and are on sale now at the Paramount Box office.

Lipizzaner Stallions at Freedom Hall

The Lipizzaner Stallions are currently on their 41st Anniversary tour and they are making their way to Johnson City, Tn. With all new music, choreography and routines they are set to perform at Freedom Hall on Thursday, April 22nd at 7:30pm. Tickets for the show go on sale March 8th at 10am. Martina McBride and Trace Adkins at Roanoke

Lord of the Dance at Freedom Hall

Michael Flatley's Lord of the Dance taps its way into the Tri-Cities for One show only! Lord of the Dance were crowned the World Champions at the 2009 World Irish Dance Championships. These champion dancers are set to perform on Monday, April 26th at 7:30pm at Freedom Hall. Tickets go on sale Friday, February 12th at 10:00am. Ticket prices are $45, $38 and $29. Appalachian Trail Days in Damascus

Appalachian Trail Days is a festival held each year in May, the weekend after Mothers' Day, in the Appalachian mountain town of Damascus, Virginia. Trail Days celebrate the Appalachian Trail and the hikers, former hikers and aspiring hikers who converge there each year. Their is music, childrens' games, and an unusual parade. You can enjoy bike riding, hiking, eating and many other family-friendly activities.

Iris Festival - Greeneville
May 15, 2010  thru May 16, 2010
The 16th Annual Iris Festival, an award winning juried arts and crafts show featuring crafters from across the United States will be Saturday and Sunday, May 15th and 16th in historic Downtown Greeneville. Also featured will be a fantastic food court, an awesome Kids' Korner, storytelling, a dance stage and an entertainment stage, carriage rides through the historic downtown Greeneville area, a Miss Iris Festival Pageant, a Merchants Marketplace and much more. Whitetop Mountain Ramp Festival

Daughtry in Pikeville, KY

Lee Greenwood at Freedom Hall

Tickets for this event are being sold through the Kingsport, Johnson City and Bristol TN/VA Firefighters Associations. Tickets are $25 and all seating is General Admission. Funds raised will benefit residents of Kingsport, Johnson City, Bristol TN/VA and Washington and Sullivan Counties. Proceeds will help by: providing smoke detectors for families, helping fund the Community Fire Relief Fund for victims of fire, providing funding for the Childrens Fire Safety program and continued education and specialized training for firefighters. White Lightning Festival

The White Lightning festival in Downtown Cumberland Gap, Tennessee is set for June 26th from 10am till 10pm. From the Civil War to modern day America, The White Lightning Festival will tell the story of those rugged, self-reliant people that made this area the topic of movies and gave birth to one of America’s fastest growing sports;stock car racing. The White Lightning Trail, which begins in Knoxville, TN travels through nine counties including Anderson, Union, Campbell, Claiborne, Grainger, Jefferson, Hamblen and Cocke. These communities share a rich heritage and that will be on display in the form of demonstrations, food, antique cars and a variety of music.
