Appalachian Fair
August 18, 2008  thru August 23, 2008
It's time to welcome the Appalachian Fair back to Gray, Tennessee. Admission to the Fairgrounds is as follows: Adults $8,Children 6-11 $3, Children 5 & under free with an Adult. Mainstage events are Tracy Lawrence on Monday, Aug. 18th, Tuesdays performer is Josh Gracin, Jake Owen on Wed., Aug. 20th, Heidi Newfield on Thursday, Aug. 21st, Chris Young on Friday, Aug.22nd and Jypsi on Sat., Aug. 23rd. 1st Annual Racing Legends of the South
August 21, 2008  10am till 2pm
1st Annual Racing Ledgends of the South Fund Raiser to help racing legends and their families with medical and financial needs will be held at Gray Tire and Automotive 211 Suncrest Street, Gray, Tn. 1-26 Exit 13 behind the Shell Station. Come and meet many racing legends who will be present for autograph signing plus Brownie King and the original car he drove in the first Daytona 500.

Race Weekend at Bristol Motor Speedway
August 22, 2008  thru August 23, 2008
The Food City 250 is scheduled for Friday, August 22, 2008 beginning at 8:00pm. The Sharpie 500 will be on Saturday, August 23,2008, starting at 8:00pm. Adult tickets for the Food City 250 are $45, $57, $67, and $72.(All seats reserved) childrens tickets (12 yrs and younger) are $10 with a ticketed adult.

Benefit Golf Tournament for Peyton Barker
September 5, 2008  7:00pm
There will be a benefit Golf Tournament for Peyton Barker ( a little baby boy diagnosed with Arthrogryposis Multiplex Congentia) at Big Hollow Golf Course on September 5th and Tee time will be 7:00pm. The proceeds from this tournament will help Peyton's family with mounting medical bills due to Peyton's illness. Washington County Fair - Abingdon
September 8, 2008  thru September 13, 2008
The annual Washington County Fair and Burley Festival in Abingdon, Virginia, will run September 8th through 13th. Activities include educational exhibits, concerts, talent shows, beauty pageants, and a parade. Daily exhibits will include farm equipment, crops, tobacco, livestock, foods, and flowers. There will be nightly concerts at 8:00 pm on the entertainment stage. Performers will include James Otto, Kentucky Headhunters, Kellie Pickler, Trent Tomlimson, Percy Sledge, and Bucky Covington. Annual Kid's Fishing Rodeo - Steele Creek Park
September 13, 2008  8:00 am to 12:00 noon
The 16th annual Kid's Fishing Rodeo at Steele Creek Park will be held Saturday, September 13th. The event is free for all kids ages 4 to 12. Registration begins at 7:30 am and ends at 10 am. Fishing will be from 8:00 am until noon. Bring your own pole, rod, and net. Bait will be supplied. Prizes will be awarded with a brand new bicycle being the top prize in each of three age groups. There will be free hot dogs, chips, drinks and t-shirts while supplies last. Each child must be accompanied by a parent or guardian 18 years old or over.
